I graduated in the fall of 2003
from NAU with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. Last fall I am
proud to say that I started my Masters Degree in Educational
Leadership through NAU’s Distance Learning. I am so excited to be going
back to school pursuing what I love to do! I hope to finish my degree
this summer.
I grew up in a family full of educators: my Grandma Alice, both my
parents, and now me! It seemed only natural that I would become a
teacher since my love for school has been ongoing since my first day of
preschool! With my mom being a second grade teacher I remember
rearranging her classroom, putting up bulletin boards, and cutting out
endless strips of lamination all because I shared the same passion:
teaching! My father, on the other hand, showed me all of the endless
opportunities in education through his experience of becoming a
principal, superintendent, and teaching at a number of universities. My
passion for teaching has definitely come from my family and that I am
thankful for!
In February 2007, I married a wonderful person. Garrick is a huge supporter of my dedication to school (he has to be, he
designed this website with me!) Not only did I recently become a wife,
but a mom as well! Cayden is a bundle of joy at five! On July 23rd, our
little Kaylee was born. My little family
is definitely not complete without my two loveable dogs: Daisy and
Athena.
Starting my fifth year at Ishikawa on the fifth grade team
has been a dream! I feel so fortunate to have such a dedicated
principal, unbelievable staff, and such supportive parents. I look
forward to a wonderful year ahead!
